Care & Maintenance for Timber Bathroom Furniture
All Fifth Avenue Bathroom Furniture vanities are made using best quality raw material and designed to withstand to Australian weather conditions. Wood will absorb and release moisture throughout its life, this may cause slight movement and hairline cracks in surfaces. Please do not be alarmed, this is how wood adjust itself to the changing environment.
* Regular care
* Use a damp microfiber (or non-abrasion) cloth to wipe off and finish off with a dry cloth.
* Always wipe off spillages immediately
* Always rub in the direction of the grain
* Avoid using harsh cleaning chemicals and detergents which may cause damage to the protective layer.
* Thorough care
* Use ultra-fine sandpaper (1200 grit or above) to remove any scratches or stains
* Always sand in the direction of the grain.
* Deep scratches should be filled with timber filler (use similar color putty to the timber). Follow manufactures instructions.
* Once the surface is repaired spray satin clear varnish (Cabot’s 300g Oil Based Satin Cabothane Clear Polyurethane Timber
Varnish Aerosol. Follow manufacturer’s instructions. (Only for Teak Vanities)
* Once the surface is repaired apply Osmo Polyx Clear. Follow manufacturer’s instructions. (For Messmate, Vic Ash, Veneer
vanities)
